Meet The New Family Readiness Team!

I am very excited to bring you up to speed on the many changes that have occurred in Family Programs over the last six weeks.

We have shifted from contracted services to enduring manpower that is staffed with state employees.

The state employees will be providing family readiness, family assistance, and spouse employment services to your Service members and their families.
To recognize that our state employees are now both Soldier and family focused, their title is Soldier & Family Readiness Specialist (S&FRS) and
are they assigned to specific units.

The primary role of the team is to ensure that our Soldiers and their families (primary points of contact) are informed, prepared, and empowered
to meet the unique demands of the Wisconsin National Guard life-style.  When quality of life well-being are challenges occur, the S&FRS team is standing
by to provide community based information, resource, and referral services to Service members, military families, family readiness group volunteers,
unit leaders, veterans, retirees, and community partners.

The locations are Family Assistance Centers staffed by the S&FRS.  I have listed the locations below.   Over the last month, the team has been working on gaining familiarity with their assigned roles in this brand new position.  You may recognize members on the team who previously performed services as a Family Assistance Center Specialist or Family Readiness Support Assistant.  They have been mentoring our newest team members but have also been honing their skills in their expanded role. For more information about the individuals, assigned units, and contact details, please see the Family Assistance Center page of this website.

Over the course of the next week, your S&FRS will be contacting you to introduce themselves and identify unit specific family readiness goals,
needs, and concerns.   The 24/7 contact is still available at 1-800-292-9464 option 1.  All of the specialists are able to answer this line.
