Frequently asked questions

Can I volunteer to support Badger Youth Camp this year?

Camp Lakotah provides ACA trained counselors to support Badger Youth Camp. Utilizing their staff provides a safe, well-rounded program for all campers.

There may be a need for a few volunteers to provide support. We will establish a sign-up site and publish it on this page. Volunteers will be assigned based on their experience and the needs for camp this year.

Why does my child need to be the dependent of a currently-serving service member?

The cost for using a civilian facility is subsidized by the USO and other outside agencies. The subsidy is targeted toward currently-serving service members. We need to respect the intent of their support and ensure that the dependents of currently-serving service members are receiving the support.

The cost is much higher than last year. Can you provide specifics explaining the increase?

Camp Lakotah is facing the same financial issues other businesses are facing due to the lingering effects of Covid-19 on the economy. A shortage of supplies and escalating costs has forced the staff at Camp Lakotah to pass along some of those charges to us.

Camp Lakotah is graciously cutting the cost that is normally charged for a camp like ours to provide some financial relief to military families,

Who can I contact for additional information?

You can contact the Youth Camp Director if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Will my child receive a t-shirt this year?

This year each child will receive 1 Youth Camp shirt. Please plan to pack additional shirts for each child to wear.
