Wisconsin Army National Guard Family Programs are now on Facebook. Are you aware of all of the resources that are available to Service members, veterans, retirees, and family members? Navigating the military life-style and unique demands of balancing a Guard or Reserve career with civilian life is challenging for even the most resilient military family.
Many people in the local community and work-force believe that military demands just happen during a deployment. But experience gained through interactions with Service members and their families by the family assistance specialists and other personnel that support the Service Member Support Division and Wisconsin National Guard tells a different story. Bill Hasz, Family Assistance Center Coordinator for the Wisconsin National Guard, refers to the family assistance team as the bridge between military families and information and referral services in the local community. The Family Programs Facebook page is just another means for the Wisconsin National Guard to keep Service members and the families informed, prepared, and empowered to manage the demands of military life, personal readiness, and family readiness.
Our Facebook page will be used to introduce followers to a wide range of programs and resources to assist Service members and their families with getting reimbursed for ACT, SAT, GRE, and GMAT exams, to upcoming Child and Youth events, volunteer opportunities, career fairs, quality of life resources, and more. Followers will also have the opportunity to interact with Service Member Support Division and Family Programs staff, ask questions, or even get a referral to subject matter experts to address quality of life issues and concerns.
