Educational Testing

  • DANTES sponsored exams (DSST and CLEP): are available computer based with instant results through the National Testing Center (Concordia University WI) and can be taken at one of the ten locations throughout the state:
  • Available to Active Duty, Guard or Reserve military members and their spouses (DoD ID Required). The first attempt is fully funded, any retests are paid for by the individual.
Army Personnel Testing (APT):More Information
  • Eligibility-Currently drilling WI Army National Guard Soldiers. The Soldier must have a current military identification card (Common Access Card (CAC)). Dependents of service members are not eligible for APT testing.
  • Armed Forces Classification Test (AFCT) (AKA retake ASVAB to increase line scores)
  • Select Instrument for Flight Training (SIFT)
  • Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB) Reference; AR 11-6 Army Foreign Language Program
To set up an APT test, WI Army National Guard Soldiers should contact The WIARNG Education Office
  • Per AR 611-5 Soldiers have to wait 180 days for any retest on an APT exam (No Exceptions)
  • No more than four AFCT (ASVAB retakes) are allowed
  • No more than two retakes are allowed on the SIFT unless the passing score of 40 is attained
  • Testing is conducted at the JFHQ location in Madison from 0800-1600 each Thursday (Must call for appointment)
  • Any Soldiers that miss their scheduled exam time without contacting the education office will require a memorandum from their Commander prior to being scheduled any further exams
